When Transparency Is Questioned, Public Trust Must Be Protected

Decisions that shape Namibia's economy must always be guided by transparency, accountability, and the public interest.

IPC has raised concerns following the Government's decision to suspend the competition safeguards that previously prevented Nasan Energies from sourcing fuel from Vitol. Given the significance of this decision for competition in the fuel sector, it is essential that the public understands how the decision was reached and what measures remain in place to protect consumers, preserve fair competition, and safeguard the public interest.

We call for transparency regarding the review process, the reasons for the suspension, and the safeguards that will preserve fair competition and public confidence.
