Energy security is the backbone of the Namibian economy, directly impacting the everyday lives of our taxi drivers, farm workers, and families across the nation. When the bulk supply of our nation’s petrol and diesel is managed under a temporary arrangement without competitive public tenders or parliamentary oversight, it raises crucial structural questions regarding how Namibia engages with global commercial actors.
As the Official Opposition, our responsibility is to ensure that national strategic assets are handled through rigorous, transparent, and fair processes. The public deserves clear insight into the terms, pricing methodologies, and risk mitigation strategies governing our energy sector. The IPC stands firmly for an open governance model where critical national agreements are subject to the highest standards of accountability.
