Namibia is Not for Sale: Why Our National Assets and Security Require Full Public Disclosure
A nation’s sovereignty, its natural resources, and its security belong to all its citizens, not to a select few. The Independent Patriots for Change (IPC) raises serious concerns regarding the recent delegation to Beijing and the signing of several binding agreements that directly impact our military, our strategic harbors, and our minerals, all concluded behind closed doors without parliamentary oversight or public debate.
From secret contracts signed by unverified companies to committing our national defense force to military-industrial cooperation with a foreign power, the details of these agreements were learned from foreign state media rather than our own government. While we welcome genuine, mutually beneficial international investments, we firmly reject the notion that Namibians should accept commitments of this magnitude made in secret. True economic transformation requires sound leadership, administrative fairness, and complete transparency.
Our country is not a private asset to be bargained away in silence. We demand that the government publish the full list of signed documents, clarify the terms of these agreements, and provide the transparency that every Namibian deserves.
