Rev. June Dolley Major paid a courtesy call to the office of the Mayor of Walvisbay last week.

Rev. June Dolley Major, a sexual and gender-based violence advocate, paid a courtesy call to the office of the Mayor of Walvisbay last week. Rev. June was accompanied by two fellow activists who are in the country to raise awareness on their campaign called “say his name’’ by walking 360 kilometres through Namibia. The “say his name” campaign encourages victims of sexual violence to name and shame their perpetrators.

The team of activists who are victims of rape held in-person discussions on gender-based violence and femicide on Friday at the Kuisebmond Library.

“We also advocate for boys to speak on any sexual offences especially those committed in churches.”

The mayor, Trevino Forbes, said the brutal acts of sexual violence has no place in the world and encouraged the team to continue their plight. 07/10 /2022
