Delivering Real Economic Growth for Namibians

Promising 500,000 jobs requires an active economic machine, not speeches, ministerial flights, or ceremonial photo opportunities. Sustainable employment is created when factories produce, farms reach export markets, and infrastructure carries commercial freight.

Namibia formally launched trading under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) in June 2025, yet reports indicate only nine Certificates of Origin have been issued for exports to date. Meanwhile, state trade infrastructure remains underutilised. The N$329 million Ondangwa to Oshikango railway line has gone more than two years without a TransNamib train running due to a lack of commercial cargo generation.

True economic diplomacy must yield measurable national results:

  • Which export markets have opened for local enterprises?

  • Which non-tariff trade barriers have been removed?

  • How many raw material streams are being converted into domestic manufacturing jobs?

The IPC will hold the government accountable through Parliamentary Notices of Questions to ensure trade agreements and infrastructure investments convert into tangible jobs for our citizens.
