Beyond the Grey List: Strengthening Transparency and Trust

Namibia's removal from the FATF Grey List is a significant achievement that deserves recognition. It reflects the efforts of institutions and professionals who worked diligently to strengthen our country's financial governance framework and restore confidence in Namibia's standing on the international stage.

At the same time, this milestone should not mark the end of the conversation. Strong laws and institutions must be matched by consistent implementation, transparency, and accountability. The true measure of success lies not only in meeting international standards, but in ensuring that the systems designed to combat corruption, money laundering, and illicit financial flows serve the interests of all Namibians.

IPC welcomes this progress while calling for greater transparency, stronger enforcement, and meaningful public access to information that strengthens trust in our democratic institutions.
