Beyond Board Dismissals: Why Real Accountability at NAC Demands Systemic Reform, Not Just Shuffling Seats

The dismissal of five board members at the Namibia Airports Company (NAC) by the Minister of Works and Transport brings the ongoing governance crisis in our transport sector back into sharp focus. While stopping administrative decay is necessary, good governance requires far more than removing individuals, it demands total transparency, procedural fairness, and structural accountability.


Namibia’s national airport infrastructure is a critical strategic asset vital to our trade, international connectivity, and economic recovery. Good governance cannot be applied selectively or reactively after assets have already been compromised.


The Independent Patriots for Change (IPC) calls for immediate actions to uphold constitutional principles under Article 18 (Administrative Justice) and Articles 40(a) and 41 (Ministerial Accountability):
